Q: I installed this program but it will not start and there are no error messages?
A: This is most likely a missing or back level software Prerequisites. See Trouble Shooting Common Problems to fix most common post install issues. If you are getting an error message, email it to Support.

Q: What is the advantage of using DirectX as an audio driver?
A: Matrix Mic uses Microsoft DirectX DirectSound (a free download) as an audio driver. Unlike some other audio driver software packages, DirectX will detect advanced features of your computer audio hardware and utilize those hardware acceleration features. Hardware acceleration generally results in much better quality sound production. Programs that do not use hardware features simulate effects using the computer CPU which may overload the computer or produce sluggish performance. DirectX DLLs are also well tested and will not lead to destabilizing the computer.

Q: Will Matrix Mic interfere with the Windows master audio device settings?
A: No. In fact, you set the master volume and speaker system by clicking the taskbar icon or going to the Windows Control Panel -- Sound and Audio Devices applet. All master settings in this applet are applied to Matrix Mic. Volume levels set in Matrix Mic will be relative to the Windows master volume.

Q: Can I use other sound programs along with Matrix Mic?
A: Yes. Other programs such as Windows Media Player (WMP) may be used along side Matrix Mic. Some audio programs will stop producing sound when the user clicks on another application window. Matrix Mic will continue producing sound.
