Windows Event Viewer

Windows Event Viewer can be useful for diagnosing hardware errors. Some USB Hub connected sound and video cards may produce device driver errors under certian conditions such as rapidly starting and stopping media. The result can be a program freeze. These driver errors are only reported in Windows Event logs.

Opening the Event Viewer

There are multiple ways to open the Event Viewer.


Via Windows 10 Start
  • Click on the Windows Start button > Windows Administration Tools > Event Viewer.

Via Windows Search

Via Windows Control Panel
  • Open the Windows Control Panel.
  • Click the Administrative Tools icon.
  • On the resulting screen, click the Event Viewer icon.
