A Media Group is simply a collection of Media Items. Media Groups provides a way to operate on multiple Media Items with a single button click (examples: Load, Play, Stop, Pause, Resume, etc.). You create Media Groups with the Media Groups Editor. Use the Apply Toolbar button to enter Group execution mode.
The Media Groups Editor allows you to create and edit Media Groups (Figure 1.) . Go to Edit Media List -- Media Groups -- Edit Groups to bring up the Group Selector dialog (Figure 2.) . Click the Add button to add a new empty group. You can also remove groups or rearrange the group list.
Select any Group in the list, then click the Edit button to popup the Media Groups Editor (Figure 1.) to make changes to the group. Give the group a logical Name that describes its use. Click the Select Items to change which Media Items are contained in the group.
The Current Group is used whenever you are in "Apply To Group" mode. Go to Edit Media List -- Media Groups -- Select Current Group and select a group from the resulting selection list. It now becomes the Current Group.
As a productivity aid, you can quickly create a new group consisting of All the Loaded Media Items. Once created it is also automatically set as the Current Group. It will be named with a 4 character identifier, but you are free to change the name if you plan to use the group in future sessions.
The Edit Media List -- Media Groups -- Apply To Group Mode menuitem has the same functions as the Apply toolbar button. Clicking this toggles Apply mode between Apply To Group (when checked) and Apply To Selected (when unchecked) .
