Matrix Mic - User's Guide
Inputs - Microphone
Select Microphone
Refer to the program window
Microphone and Output Groups section.
Pick the microphone you want to use as the input device from the
Mic Input selector. All available mics should be listed including headset microphones, Webcams with built-in mic, and mics connected to a soundcard input jack. Better quality mics will have a minimum amount of line hiss or noise. If you hear clicking or sputtering noise when you speak, you may need to adjust the
Output Format to a higher quality signal.
These Mic Input selections are rediscovered every time you start the program and are not saved with the Audio Configuration files. If you add a mic while Matrix Mic is running, you may need to click
Refresh Devices for it to appear in the list.
What is the Primary Sound Capture Driver?
When you start the program it will discover the list of current connected microphones (sound capture devices) from Windows. One of the devices will be the Primary Sound Capture Driver.
This is the Sound Recording Default Device listed in the Windows Control Panel -- Sound -- Recording applet. It is a duplicate of one of the other capture devices in the list. If this is the microphone you want to use for Matrix Mic, you can select either the Primary Sound Capture Driver or the microphone's System Name from the list. There is no difference between the two to Matrix Mic.
