Using Configurations

What is a Configuration?

A Configuration allows you to save (to a file) any settings you have made such as Output Groups or Device settings ( Device Logical names and Volumes). Any edits you make while operating the program will become part of the current configuration.

Who should use Configurations?

The Configuration functionalty was designed for users who have the program on a laptop and use it at multiple venues. For example, you could have a Configuration for each different theater.

They are also useful for an environment where you are swapping in/out multiple audio devices (such as USB external sound cards). So you could have a Configuration for each specific combination of devices you connect.

Saving and Restoring Configurations

The File menu options and related toolbar buttons provide funtions to Open and Save a Configuration. Save As will pop up a dialog box so you can save to a different file. When you Open an existing Configuration, the user interface will be reset.

New Configurations

When you create a new Configuration, Matrix Mic will acquire a fresh list of devices and create a new set of default Output Groups. Any edits you may have made on the current Configuration will be cleared, so be sure to save the current config if you will need it later.
